Holy Kiss – A poem

This is an old poem. I’ve shared bits of it, but here it is in its entirety.

~

he fell to the earth to make wine for poor weddings
his voice only for prayer
that which my ears have not yet drunk
in the blessed night
the sweetest honey is loathsome
but Venus doesn’t smile in the house of tears
sensual pleasure passes and vanishes
the spiritual lover that i knew only in the night
comes now with the day
death will come soon to hush us along
and darkness will fall turning into light
the son of sorrow will not show his head
his words were hopeless but heavenly
he was not ashamed of this ecstasy
he threw himself to the earth
watering my feet with his tears
as the dawn grows i see with different eyes
watching him become the genius he was born to be
within a holy kiss
that invokes the spirit with sacred space
the gentleness of sin
